Illustrator CS3 slug program - with XMP?

Promoted from User Forums

I am in search of a slug/mechanical generator that works with Illustrator CS3 and XMP -so that we can search the fields within webnative. Triple Triangle is not -and will not- be available for Illustrator CS3. I came across the Gluon Slugger AI program, but it is extremely limited in scope. My search has been fruitless so far. Does anyone currenlty have a solution for this?
Better yet, is anyone using Illustrator CS3 in conjunction with xmp metadata? If so, how?

Have not found any thing either. I have emailed both Gluon and TT but as you say they are both focussed on InDesign. Esko Graphics does have workflows with Slug Automation and XML content management but relies on you having a Backstage server and Deskpack... quite costly but worth you investigating

I am asking a developer to look at Slugger style plugin but with more options - will let you know if succesful.

I was searching for that solution as well... Never found anything! I did figure out using Dalim's Twist product - how to generate my own slug - which gets applied to ALL output PDF files. Nice thing is that it doesn't matter which application it came from. Bit of an expensive solution - but, in my case well worth it!

What file information are you able to print on your TWiST output? I assume you are writing it on both hard copy and output file formats.

We're using TT in InDesign to show job data from Venture and FileMaker. Integrating database tools to get all these to talk together. Are you creating a complex slug with job data? If so, I'd sure like to hear more.
