Scott Tully Elected to XUG Board of Directors

SEPTEMBER 3, 2008 -- Scott Tully, director of integrated manufacturing for the Premedia Group of Vertis Communications, has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Xinet Users Group. Within Vertis, Scott leads a team of workflow solutions specialists who are engaged in lean/continuous improvement through the application and integration of best-of-class technologies.

Vertis is a commercial print and media communications company that offers various print and related communications services including the printing of retail inserts, catalogs, creative services, premedia, large format and direct mail.

XUG president Scott Pellicone (vice president/business development for Quebecor World Premedia) said, "The Xinet Users Group is very fortunate to have someone of Scott Tully's knowledge and experience serving on our leadership board. Not only does Scott himself have great insight into Xinet user needs, but Vertis has one of the most expansive Xinet installations in the world--large enough to serve as its own Xinet integrator."

Scott Tully has more than 24 years' experience in prepress and print manufacturing, distinguishing himself within the industry as a passionate advocate, author and contributor to multiple industry organizations. In 2003, Scott received the Joseph L. Pedone Founders Award from the Digital Distribution of Advertising for Publication (DDAP) Association in recognition of his contribution to both the development of the PDF/X family of standards as well as his creation of the industry's first PDF/X-1a:2001 file in August 2001.

"Vertis Communications is a recognized leader in both the development and application of international standards within its businesses," said Scott Tully. "The standardization of our entire premedia platform on Xinet products promotes efficiencies within our workflow processes, empowers our clients, and engages all involved in the production process."

A dynamic leader, Scott recently served as President of the North American Dalim Software Users Organization from 2004 to 2006. In choosing to take a leadership role with the Xinet Users Group, Scott will be a driving force for seamless integration and interoperability. "I welcome the opportunity to drive product innovation and be an advocate for my fellow Xinet users. Working together, we are sure to see our technical needs, wants and desires communicated clearly--all for the benefit of the membership."

I just wanted to thank Scott Tully for stepping up as a volunteer to take a leadership role in the Xinet Users Group. I think he's a great addition!
