We create all our PDFs and Pre-flight through Twist and I have to say it's exceptionally good. Twist is more complex than it looks, not easy to set up, but can do almost anything. Being a server based application you get a consistant output but requires good working practices from your operators. Happy to discuss in detail- Neil

I think I may have undersold Twist in my last note. It really is great. Everybody that uses it thinks the same, just look at DUO (Dalim Users Organisation) But it is complex and not nearly as easy as it looks in those demos. We have Twist servers in London and New York sitting next to our Xinet servers. Jobs are submitted from all over Europe to our London server and I regularly submit jobs to New York from London. Your integrators become more like partners. You need to plan exactly what you want Twist to do when you start creating your Twist workflow, you name it Twist can probably do it! We use TPI in the UK and IO in New York both of whom are very used to integrating Twist with Fullpress. Preflight tools are good with a clear interface, I like the way it sends you a pdf naming and highlighting all the issues and still give you the option to validate/approve. We have found colour management far better in Twist than Fullpress with colour engine far closer to PhotoShop and Pdfs fully JDF and PdfX1a compatible with all the options and more of Acrobat.

Thanks, Neil - very helpful. We're in budgeting for this now, and won't begin integration until next year.
Sounds like we're right to count on a strong integrator to help us with this, rather than trying to do it ourselves.
Question - have you been using Twist in one location, or are multiple offices hitting one server?
Also - when you mention operator discipline - anything beyond what the typical desktop operator would be able to handle?
TIA...

That's great, Neil - thanks. These are all things I could benefit from as well.
We do actually have a pretty tight relationship with our integrator, and I look forward to seeing what this tool can add to our lineup.
Cheers
