What size is your DAM?

Digital Asset Management means different things to different people. To me, it is a way to orgnanize and access asset. As someone who is selling such a solution, different people need, and pay for different sized soltuions.

What have you rolled out and do you consider it a large feature enhanbced soltuion, a midsized not basic but now that enhanced solution or a small basic rollout? Does your company devote time to it's continued development?

We are in the process of rolling out Xinet. We have many different customers who require different solutions and we have debated mightily about how best to implement. Library Assets vs. Job Based Assets is the biggest hurdle. Also, how best to integrate disparate systems to make a uniform workflow. We are new to the game and really need help with this. Any suggestions on how people have done this in the past would be great. Success stories? Horror stories?I read the Seybold article on how IO worked with Deutsch Advertising and what the did really spoke to me. They are not our integrator (long story) but how do I get our integrator to help us in this manner?

If you have an example of what you think your solution should be modeled after, I'd show it to any integrator as the starting point. Regardless of who your integrator is I think you'll find them to be most responsive to input. And the more specific you are the better. It's certainly worth a conversation.Eric HegdahlPresident, XUGMarketing Technology Officer, Graphic Systems Group

My understanding is that IOI is no longer the Deutsch Xinet integrator.

Hello doubleudet,

Are you still needing assistance with workflow questions? Just wondering since this post is a bit crusty at this point.

Things have gotten better since I wrote this post. Technical difficulties are always present but once we were trained by our integrators world-class trainer it was like the curtains opened and the sun shone upon us. Our eyes were opened and unlimited knowledge was ours.

;)

Seriously though. Now that we know what we are dealing with it is a little easier to ask the questions. Until then we had no point of reference.
