Welcome to my Blog!

The InPress Blog

Hej Hej! (Hello from Sweden),

Who am I? Why should you read my blog?

My name is Jenna Mac Killop and I work for InPress Systems AB in Sweden. I'm in charge of marketing, sales & PR here at InPress.

So, yes, I work for a vendor and I definitely intend to use this blog to promote my company, our worldwide network of integration partners and Xinet products. I want to be clear about that right from the start.>>>

In case you are not familiar with InPress Systems, we have been developing products that complement the Xinet solution (specifically WebNative) since Drupa 2000 when we released the first version of our Web-to-Print solution, Accelerator. We've also been a Xinet integrator in Sweden since 1996.

In addition to developing tools for WebNative, we LOVE doing custom projects. We have done some really amazing projects and have built some fantastic WebNative and WebNative Portal sites. These projects help the Xinet users customize their DAM systems to fit their specific needs.

We love getting emails and calls for our partners and customers that start of with "I have this idea" or "We have this customer that wants to..." or "It would be so perfect if we could display the data this way." It's challenging, a lot of fun and really shows how our customers are required to think strategically, creatively and quickly when it comes to the services they want to offer their customers.

So my days are spent communicating with our reseller partners, our customers, our engineers and tech support staff, writing about our products, writing case studies, writing reseller and end user newsletters, doing demos helping out with project management and talking with the other members of the InPress/Xinet community.

Before joining the InPress team in Sweden, I spent 7 years working for Xinet in Berkeley. At Xinet I had the opportunity to talk with customers from all over the world and from every industry that ever had a file that needed to be shared, repurposed, printed, archived, delivered, etc. I talked to everyone from the one person at the 1 person startup to the president of Mega Marketing. I spoke to printers, publishers, magazine editors, corporate marketers, brand strategists, prepress experts, catalog producers, art directors and studio managers. Every phone call was an adventure and the same holds true in my work at Inpress.

In addition to communicating with customers, I worked closely with the reseller channel, other Xinet staff members, went to tradeshows and conferences, did demos and ultimately learned a great deal about working for a software development company. I was there for the release of WebNative, WebNative Venture and Portal. I definitely learned a lot about our customers and the challenges they face on a daily basis.

I'm definitely not a guru, a geek, an industry pundit, an evangelist, or even a techie. If I'm a specialist in any area, it's customer relations. That is really what I've been doing for the past 8 years of my life.

My goal for this blog is to keep Xinet users informed about what's happening here at InPress, provide feedback and commentary on topics that our relevant to our customers, interact on a more personal level with people in the industry and encourage others to post and participate in XUG activities, because I think XUG has the potential to be a hugely valuable tool for the global Xinet community.

Please feel free to respond to my posts with comments, questions, feedback, and anything relating to InPress, our products, our customers our partners, etc.

There is a lot happening here at InPress Systems, but keeping up my XUG blog will remain a priority if it helps InPress provide better products and services and helps our customers and partners get the information they need to get the most from their software investments.

Thanks for reading!

Jenna
