Graph Expo News, Day 1

by Joel Friedman
Graph Expo opened in Chicago yesterday, on a beautiful sunny day on the shores of Lake Michigan. The two largest US integrators, NAPC and IO Integration, have booths here, and Xinet representatives seem to move from one to the other and back again as needs dictate. The booths are only about 30 feet apart.>>>

In our first bit of news, XUG Sponsor NAPC announced the release of Report Generator, a plug-in that lets WebNative and FullPress administrators gather specific information about their users, assets and system resources, simplifying tasks such as job invoicing and resource allocation.

Report Generator includes dozens of ready-to-use reports. Administrators can quickly create Excel spreadsheets from raw data, generate invoices for billable work using pre-built templates, or deliver CSV files to finance.

"A reporting function has been the number one feature request from our customers and the missing piece in our BrandControl suite of Xinet tools," said Kenny Kirsch, NAPC's Director of Strategic Solutions.

You can use Report Generator to uncover a wide range of info, including: user login/logout activity; number of print jobs in a given time period; which files staff worked on; how often a file was downloaded, printed, previewed and more; how much server space a client is using; daily, weekly, and monthly statistics on usage for volumes and spoolers; among other functions.

Administrators can now schedule automated delivery of reports via email and take advantage of Web-based sharing, which allows users to exchange report data with others simpoly by logging in to the same site or emailing a link.

Report Generator is accessible from the BrandControl portal, which provides access to the complete NAPC suite of Xinet tools.

I'm headed back to the show floor now to find out more about new Xinet integration functions. The word is that IO Integration is doing some interesting things with ICS, and I'll check that out and report back.
