Search Venture metadata fields using Adobe Bridge CS3...

Promoted from the User Forums

I was wondering if there is any information about using a third party
app, like Adobe Bridge CS3, to search for Venture generated metadata
contained by files on a Fullpress volume?

In my workflow, hires images need to be cleaned. I was thinking that if the cleaners were able to search the Fullpress volumes for the images that contain specific metadata created using Venture, it would help a lot instead of having to navigate through finder windows and folders.>>>

I have the Custom metadata panel file saved into my "Library/Application Support/Adobe/XMP/Custom File Info Panels" folder and I can edit the custom fields that have been created in Venture, but I can't use those fields in the search feature found in Bridge CS3. Thanks for any info you might have on this.

There is a tech note on Xinet.com that shows how to do this with MetaGrove, but the information can also be applied to Bridge. You should be able to search across any Venture metadata in Brige. Contact your integrator and they should be able to help you out with this.

We've built loads of these and I completely understand the benefits of a client side application like Bridge over a browser based interface like WebNative.

I can't tell from your post whether you are editing the custom fields in PhotoShop CS3 or Bridge? Do the fields show up in Bridge CS3 at all?

If they don't, see the "Including Custom Panels in Bridge" section of the "Custom Panels Info XMP File Info" documentation from Adobe, http://www.adobe.com/products/xmp/custompanel.html. Bridge can display information for the following widgets: edit_text, static_text and cat_container_edit_text.
